...and suddenly I saw
the heavens
unfastened
and open,
planets,
palpitating plantations,
shadow perforated,
riddled
with arrows, fire and flowers,
the winding night, the universe.

And I, infinitesimal being,
drunk with the great starry
void,
likeness, image of
mystery,
felt myself a pure part
of the abyss,
I wheeled with the stars,
my heart broke loose on the wind.

~Pablo Neruda

...and I have to say even when I miss the shot, watching a sunset has a big payoff.

I was told this is in Oklahoma, but it feels like Colorado to me so much that the first time I looked at it, I sat staring for probably twenty straight minutes. There is much about Colorado I do not miss (people being 99 percent of that); what I do miss is the spectacular scenery that this photo harkens for me. So beautiful this is, I actually felt for a moment the desire to visit Oklahoma, something I'd never considered before!
