The Quest of the Hidalgo by catch---22 The Quest of the Hidalgo by catch---22
So saying, and commending himself with all his heart to his lady Dulcinea, imploring her to support him in such a peril, with lance in rest and covered by his buckler, he charged at Rocinante's fullest gallop and fell upon the first...

~cervantes - El ingenioso hidalgo don Quijote de la Mancha.

----------

a little before sunrise yesterday morning. it's amazingly green from all the rain they've been receiving... the winds started early and roared across the prairie later this day. it was somewhere around 30-40 mph which made for a nice softness in the wheat field.

This is very nice, almost emotive. Very good composition, maybe a message. Just think, when every inch of open space has been devastated by wind farms--which is what will happen if wind energy is to replace all other energy--our landscape imagery will become more valuable for people who wish to remember what nature used to look like.

I'm not against sustainable energy, just wish we had better technology for it. I like my landscapes. I really like your landscapes. And this is a very beautiful and well composed work of art.

Great concept! And very nice to look at! Also makes me happy to see photos of harnessing the wind. This really is a pretty setting, especially at this angle. I hope the old guy will be maintained, even for history.

Brought to my mind an old Bob Dylan song, so I noticed a nice contrast as well with the action in the background and inaction in the foreground.

I guess Dylan would have been great for this but the nut from la mancha always mind blocks me on windmills.

I've been looking for this juxtaposition for a while... thank you David.

There's a big wind farm up in Weld County and I found a similar shot but not as good as this one. Someday I'll get back there and see what I can do.

Lovely shot, the new ones do look like giants compared to the old one which I adores the look of more,
but I guess some things have to change with the times in appearance but will always be remembered
in the hearts of adventurers like yourself.... Lovely concept, and very poweful story too... :rose:

I see a lot of those wind mills(the ones in the background) where I live. I like the contrast of the green fields and the bluish clouds. Looks like a storm was brewing =)
