Painted in Flames by catch---22 Painted in Flames by catch---22
What if this storm ends
And I don't see you
As you are now
Ever again?

The perfect halo
Of gold hair and lightning
Sets you off against
The planet's last dance.

Just for a minute
The silver forked sky
Lit you up like a star
That I will follow.

Now it's found us
Like I have found you
I don't want to run
Just overwhelm me.

What if this storm ends
And leaves us nothing
Except a memory
A distant echo?

I want pinned down
I want unsettled
Rattle cage after cage
Until my blood boils.

I want to see you
As you are now
Every single day
That I am living.

Painted in flames
All peeling thunder
Be the lightning in me
That strikes relentless...

I like the solitary dead tree scene--wherever it is found but this place is uniquely special as seen through your lens, Dennis. Excellent work!

Your shots of eastern oklahoma always amaze me. I think of OK as flat as a board and this looks like the foothills of Colorado.

I've never been on 40 and I think I've only hit the panhandle. Maybe the dog and I will have to hit OK and KS for our spring road trip. I'm sure I'll be surprised just like when I came across Palo Duro Canyon in Texas.

the back way from Trinidad to black mesa is an awesome dirt road. kind of flat once you get east of there though.

I've been on some of the county roads in Comanche Grasslands. Nice area for Aeromotors and dust bowl ruins.

At first I thought, "Till Death Do Us Part?" ... and realized, "But it's only one tree. Then two into one? Braving all storms, with singular heart, Till Death Do It Part?"

My next thoughts were what a lovely shot. Spectacular, actually. I love trees. New, old, green, dead... all good. :)

And Snow Patrol is one of my favorites, too.
