Miles From Nowhere by catch---22 Miles From Nowhere by catch---22
Miles from nowhere
I guess I'll take my time
Oh yeah, to reach there...

while visiting my parents I had a few chances to run the dirt roads of my youth. this has always been one of my pilgrimages... truly one of my favorite places and still miles from nowhere. please don't tell anyone .

the shh revamped by Sylvaur

lol  I can see 27 stories in just the first mile.

you requested a critique - i'm not a premium member so i am "not allowed" to give one, haha...

well, in my first comment i gave you some positive vibes, and i definitely love the way you captured the "dirt" of the road and the way it crawls downhill into the endless landscape, into nowhere... i love the light and the colour mood...
but in the composition i can imagine that your picture gets stronger if you crop it from the top - let's say to a little beneath the point at which the cloud at the left side gets thin...
i think the eye of the watcher will concentrate more on the road and will be drawn more into the landscape...

how many of your guests think that this is fair?

oh boy, i just saw this picture and read the words, and it aches in my heart that i can't walk the dirt roads of my childhood anymore, because nowadays even the tiniest path here in germany seems to have been paved... :(

if you find the time, please look here, it's a photo my mother took a long time ago near the place where we used to live, and it gives a little hint of the spirit of that area of that time...

and i know exactly what you mean by "27 stories" in just the first mile"

i wish my youtube worked, i so would like to hear the song you linked... but my net connection is so bad here, i just get a few seconds of youtube, then it breaks down... :(
i made a song myself, in which i sing about my longing for the "sandy ways" of my childhood - if you like to listen, it's in here: "concrete road"...

i really love your beautiful shot and "story", thanx for sharing them...

it's getting to be much the same here. the old dirt trails changing to asphalt. it'll still be a while before they're all gone though.

a great scape and some great music Deit!

thank you very much for your kind words and interest :)

The lyrics of the song match the image beautifully. If you are born in a rural environment and leave it for whatever reason, then the call back to it can only be ignored for so long before it has to be answered.
