Not that I'm an artist or anything like that, but I see a number of different factors at play in this particular photograph. The contrast of the red clay-like soils in the foreground and the rich green in the background, the barren landscape save for the two trees, the one closest to the viewer seeming to mark the barrier between red and green. The sky paints a different picture, with the blue sky patch visible and seemingly hovering over the red area with the more stormy skies in the background. I'm not sure if this was taken on a farm but the land appears to be worked in some capacity, in any case, its beautiful in a profound way. It is evident that this picture was taken intentionally with this outcome in mind, as in such a vast area of open land many other shots could have been chosen. Well done!
