Better call the ships, they been caught sailing Better call the captain, he's been caught stealing Better call the porter man, he's been caught leaving Better call all the guys on the deck, they've been caught with no feeling
Better call the fisherman, 'cause they're coming on land Better call the head nurse, wrap us up, to throw us in the dirt Better call with some resistance, better way to feel no shame Better call with some persistence, that way you feel nothing at all
Better call on evolution Better way to make a revolution...
On a foggy day at a man-made lake you were inspired by the sights and created a number of bleak and barren images. All well done.
In this particular image the incongruity of the trees in the lake grabs your attention right away. I like the use of the vignetting effect to draw attention to the center of the frame and I see another element in the composition that leads the eye to the center as well. Between the random trees on both sides there appears to be a clear path through the water with a clear dead-treeline extending out. Together they work well at drawing the eye in. With the trees vanishing off in the fog and the diminishing size of the trees you managed to give depth to the image.
Your conversion to B&W enhances the bleak look that I assume you were trying for.
This looks very eerie. I love it. A photo I recently took of the blackbirds had a bit of an eerie quality to it. They can make for some GREAT photos and this is definitely one of them.
