...No one saw us this evening hand in hand
while the blue night dropped on the world.

I have seen from my window
the fiesta of sunset in the distant mountain tops...

This is amazing photography. I love how the sun washes through the middle of it, and I love the shadows you've captured in the mountains. I like the rough wooden fence, it's like you're combining nature and a hint of society.

I feel that the plentiful yellow/orange flowers really enhance the picture, especially the stripe of sunlight.

The contrast is great, and so are the colors. I love the golden-rod and green tones that cover this gorgeous photo. The browns that show up in the fence and the peaks of the mountains add the perfect touch, and there isn't enough blue in the sky to ruin the feel.

You are an extremely lucky person to capture such a gorgeous piece. I look forward to seeing more of your work. :)

Well, I just had to pop-in and comment on this. Love this view and the light and this brings back so many wonderful memories of my trips to the area. Would like to visit again one more time in this life-time. Wish I could show you a photo I took (arguably my best ever) using a 35 mm. camera years ago, taken from the the ridge just to the right and below Sneffels peak. I still have the negative. Some day I'll get it changed to digital and get it up here. The photo looks down at a snow-fed lake far below on the east side of the peak. If you've never hiked this peak you need to. You can drive to a "parking lot" at it's base (SE side), well above timberline. Spectacular area.

well... you've had time to scan it since you posted this, did you? :p

this may be my favorite and maybe my best. it's just an amazing range, valley and road.

thinking I'm hooked for life. it's a bad sign when you keep up with the local realty companies... isn't it?

That whole area just reeks of money and trust funds, etc. I watched the Oprah show where she interviewed the designer guy (Polo brand, can't think of his name now) that lives there on Dallas Divide (pretty much N. of Sneffels) and sat drop-jawed looking at his home, it's furnishings, out-buildings, property and the view. What a dream place to live. So do you have a job where you can work out of your home and can move there? Maybe live in a white-trash trailerhome outside of Ridgeway? lol :). You know, next door to me?

oh this side of the highway is outrageous.

Ralf's ranch is on down the tree line to the left a little bit. this is looking on to last dollar ranch... which is for sale last I looked.

snort.

a steal at under 7 million.

..and nope when I go it will be a total break from what I'm doing now... so, nose to the grindstone and such now but it gets closer.

Snort?? Oh, I see, you've disguised yourself as an elk so you can trespass such places at will now, looking for that DD shot. That comes with risks you know. Watch-out for men sitting in trees with binoculars!!
